Importance of Solar Power

Solar Power is one of the methods of drawing energy directly from the Sun. There is so much energy that the sun emits that can be utilized for various purposes like electricity, heating and for many other purposes. Today one can find lots of solar products in the market which are supposed to be very eco friendly as well as cost effective also.

Prior to solar power, there were many other resources through which you could derive power. There were nuclear power plants, coal power plants and wind power which were quite popular. Nuclear power plants are very risky and quite costly also. Seeing from the cost factor point of view, it is not so viable for nations that have low subsidies. One of the major disadvantage going for a nuclear power plant is the disposal of waste as well as chances of accidents taking place is very high.

While going for coal power, it is supposed to release gases which are not eco friendly. No doubt the risk factor is very low compared to nuclear power plants. Today many countries do not go for coal power plants on account of global warming.

There are countries which go for wind power especially in remote areas and villages. It is a process where energy is derived from the wind using wind turbines. There are lots of disadvantages while going for wind power. It creates lot of sound which causes disturbances in towns and suburbs. Moreover, it occupies lot of space which is not possible if installed in cities/towns where space constraints are there. One important thing is that in order to generate power from wind plants, there should be constant flow of wind which is not always the case. Sometimes there could be no winds, in such cases it would be very difficult to generate power. They also tend to cause pollution which is a major drawback.

Compared to nuclear power plants, coal power plant and wind power plant, solar power seems to be one of the best power option as on today. There are many solar panels which are being installed and it has a good capacity to last for more number of years. They are used to generate electricity as well as for heating water. Solar chargers are also becoming more popular as they don’t require any charger or electricity. It is very simple to operate also. There are many benefits while going for solar power plants. Being more durable and long lasting, it can be carried very easily. It is supposed to be very environment friendly as it never causes pollution and requires less space.

There are lots of advantages while going for solar power. Solar power is becoming one of the easy sources of electricity.
